A Historic Oasis in the Heart of Coral Gables

Originally opened in 1924 as the "Venetian Casino," the pool was carved out of a coral rock quarry and transformed into a Mediterranean-style lagoon by artist Denman Fink and architect Phineas Paist. Fed daily by over 820,000 gallons of spring water from an underground aquifer, it's the only public swimming pool in the U.S. listed on the National Register of Historic Places .

Current Status and Renovations

Please note that the Venetian Pool is currently closed for renovations and is scheduled to reopen in late summer 2025. The City of Coral Gables is undertaking these improvements to enhance the facility while preserving its historic character .

Admission Rates (Subject to Change Upon Reopening)

  • Non-Residents:
    • Adults (13 years and older): $22
    • Children (3–12 years): $17
  • Coral Gables Residents:
    • Adults (13 years and older): $6.75
    • Children (3–12 years): $5.75

Proof of residency is required for resident rates. Children must be at least 3 years old and 38 inches tall to enter the facility
